This winter has been an exciting time for our Temple, and I would like to share our excitement with you! Though winter is usually a quiet time of year, we have a lot of new births to celebrate! …
- Of course we had our Yule and Imbolc Rituals & Salons, and the accompanying online rituals (see online riutals HERE and HERE), which were an amazing weaving of the most beautiful web of community.
- We also geared up for our new year of Spirit’s Edge Mystery School apprenticeships. The application period opened in early January, and the apprenticeships all start on March 1! Please click HERE for information on Witchcraft, Shamanism & Magick I. We will also begin our third WSM II and our second WSM III apprenticeships as well. Our first WSM IV will begin a little later this year. Wow.
- And we are gearing up for this year’s Spirit’s Edge booth and my workshop at Pagan Picnic!
But we had two brand new exciting things happen as well! …
First, our Spirit’s Edge Shamonial Temple’s sigil was officially approved as a service mark (aka trademark) by the federal government! We received notice on the Winter Solstice and had a lot to celebrate at our Yule Ritual! The certificate shows that the service mark was officially approved on Dec. 15, 2015. This has been in process for quite a while and was the last of three trademarks sought so far. So exciting to have it approved!
Our sigil is a powerful magickal sigil for healing, the work of the psychopomp, and all of the teaching and spiritual Work of our Temple and Mystery School…and now it’s an officially registered trademark too! I received the sigil in journey along with the Tradition’s name – the Spirit’s Edge Shamonial Tradition & Temple – when they were gifted to me by Spirit in Feb. 2014. “Shamonial” is a combination of the words “shamanism” and “ceremonial.” The official tradition announcement was March 2014, when I brought the Tradition and our sigil through from the inner planes during my weekend at a shamanic intensive of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies.
You may recall that we previously received approval for our two word marks (aka trademarks) for “Spirit’s Edge” and “Shamonial” and were able to celebrate them at our Spirit’s Edge booth at last year’s Pagan Picnic. Our 501c3 effort continues, and we look forward to celebrating all of this…and hopefully more progress on our 501c3 effort and raising more funds for that effort…at this year’s Pagan Picnic on June 4-5 – at our third Spirit’s Edge booth, and fourth year at Picnic for Spirit’s Edge!
The second exciting piece of news, which happened in time for our Imbolc Ritual & Salon, is that our newsletter is back. And it’s bigger, better and full of more blessings than ever! I continue to serve as our editor. To learn more about Spirit’s Edge and to participate, you may join our online group Spirit’s Edge: A Seeker’s Salon (all are welcome to join!).
We are looking for many more exciting issues of The Edge to better serve and weave the web of community. To be added to our email list so you’ll be the first in the know, just click “Subscribe” on this LINK, or email firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to our email list!
Watch for more blog posts coming soon with more exciting updates!
Love and blessings!
