Spirit’s Edge New Moon Online Ritual for New Beginnings

Altar for New Beginnings

Altar for New Beginnings

Welcome to the third online ritual offered by Spirit’s Edge! We would love to have you all share your experiences with this ritual on the Facebook event page, along with your candle photos or altar photos as well!

The link to the event page is HERE. Please keep in mind that the Facebook event page is public. Alternatively, you may post on the Spirit’s Edge: A Seeker’s Salon group page – all are welcome to join the group page, click HERE.

A New Moon (second one in March) and a Sunday (great for new beginnings and success)…What better time to come together for our third Spirit’s Edge online ritual?! We will be working with new beginnings, what we wish to grow this spring. There also will be a portion of the ritual where you will have the opportunity to do your own personalized working as part of the ritual.

It is a New Moon at 12:44 p.m. CST on March 30, 2014, in the sign of Aries, the sign that governs the beginning of the astrological calendar. We have scheduled the ritual for 12:45 p.m. CST. If you want to join the exact time, you would calculate your timing for your working of the ritual based off of your time zone compared to the CST time zone. However, rituals also work great in waves of energy, so if you wanted to do the ritual at 12:45 p.m. in your time, that’s great too. And if you can’t do that, you may do your ritual that day with the intention of sending the focus of the ritual energy to the 12:45 p.m. CST time – as all times are one time and all places are one place. Though Sunday, March 30 is ideal, you could also do it on the day after. You do not want to do it before Sunday as it would not match the energetics we seek to work with for this ritual.

You will need a Yellow candle for New Beginnings – any type or size of yellow candle. If you do not have yellow, you could choose a different color, like white or green. Perhaps you may wish to carve the words “New Beginning” into the candle. You might wish to anoint the candle with essential oils or essences or place herbs for new beginnings, renewal or success under or on the candle. Any other altar tools or set up are up to you.

I will make an altar and post a photo of it for everyone before the ritual. It would be great if everyone shares their pics of the candles and/or altars before and after the ritual. Please be aware that the event page is public. The ritual will be simple, yet Spirit-filled and powerful. Some of the best rituals are simple ones.

This is our third online ritual, and the first two were a resounding success by all accounts. If you’re curious about our first two online rituals that was on New Year’s Day and Valentine’s Day, and wondering how it works, you can check out those event pages HERE and HERE, respectively, to see all the posts and how it works. That will give you a much better idea of what to expect for this ritual. Also, there were additional posts shared in our Spirit’s Edge: A Seeker’s Salon group page, which you can join at this link HERE.

You may substitute “I” or “me” wherever there is written “we” if you prefer; or, you may also use the “we” even if you are working this ritual solitary in order to further connect with the current of the overall ritual here on this New Moon Sunday or the next day. The ritual is written with the seasonal orientation of the elements, and you may of course adapt to any alignment you prefer.

Cast Circle:

(using your hand or a wand or blade, cast the circle three times, once for each world, envisioning any color of light you choose, then stand in the center creating sacred space with the closing line)

I cast this circle in the Upperworld, shining the light of the heavens into this sacred space.
I cast this circle in the Underworld, the power of the depths emanating into this sacred space.
I cast this circle in the Middleworld, as the compassionate, helping spirits gather ‘round this sacred space.
I create sacred space between all worlds, a world where all is one, all is safe and all is possible.
So mote it be.

Call Directions/Quarters:

Hail Guardian of the Watchtower of the North
Earth holding the seeds of the future in its depths
As the wolf stalks the night
Join our circle and guide and protect us in the hunt
Lend us your senses and steadfastness to manifest our goals
Hail and Welcome!

Hail Guardian of the Watchtower of the East
The mighty crow spreading black wings
Like a vision on the morning sky
We call on you to attend our circle
Lend your power and wisdom to ours
Hail and Welcome!

Hail Guardian of the Watchtower of the South
We hear your roar as that of the Lion
And feel the warmth of your breath as it caresses us
Join our circle and honor us with your presence
Lend your strength and courage to ours
Hail and Welcome!

Hail Guardian of the Watchtower of the West
As you move with the waves and tides
The Dolphin, swimming between the worlds
Once of land and now of sea, be in our circle
Lend us your ease to move with the ebb and flow
Hail and Welcome!

North, South, East West, Above, Between and Below,
help us now to manifest our goals.
So mote it be!

Call to the Lady/Goddess:

Goddess Danu, we call on you Great Mother
Attend our circle as we walk the twilight mists between the worlds
Guide us to the magick deep within
Let us feel your heartbeat in the land
Great Goddess of magick and wisdom,
Prosperity and plenty,
Attend our circle as we plant the seeds for our future
Hail and Welcome!

Call to the Lord/God:

We call on you Daghda, Great God of the Earth
Keeper of the Seasons
As you call the Spring forth with your magickal harp
So too aid us in calling forth the sprouts of our dreams
May we pick the fruits of our labor off of heavily laden trees
Pregnant with the aroma and elixir of promise
Let us eat and drink from your bounty to manifest our desires
Hail and Welcome!

The Working:

[Light your yellow candle; let it burn if you can. If you need to snuff it later, then you may say something like “this working continues on the astral plane as it has on the physical plane” and then when you re-light it say “this working continues on the physical plane as it has on the astral plane”]

Under this New Moon bright, we celebrate new beginnings. The seeds deep in the womb of the earth, now ready to break the surface. The fulfillment of promise with success, prosperity and manifestation of the goals we seek. And yet, they are goals that truly we already have met – the goals that we know are already coming to fruition. The goals that we have already created in our dream of the world. All we need is to reach out our hands, take the fruit and bite into its fullness and juices to manifest our desires. The dream is already written and the prophecy already fulfilled by our will.

[Take a moment to watch the candle burn, and as you do, envision the light growing bigger and greater in your mind’s eye. You may wish to meditate or silently commune with the Lord and Lady. As the light from the candle glows, the light grows under this New Moon, on this Sunday of success and prosperity. It brings all the power of New Beginnings from the Lady and Lord into your life. As you commune with the Lord and Lady, out loud or silently, state what goals you are manifesting in your life. What new beginnings are you creating, what is being planted, growing, blooming and coming to fruition in your life? What new beginning do you create for yourself? Speak from your heart.]

[When you are ready, say…]

We call on Danu, the Great Mother
We call on the Daghda, the Great God
Make manifest our goals
In the best way possible for us
For the good of all and harm to none.
So mote it be!

Farewell to the Lord/God:

Daghda, Great God of the Earth, Keeper of the Seasons
As you call Spring forth with your magickal harp
Thank you for aiding us in calling forth the sprouts of our dreams
And for letting us pick the fruits of our labor off of heavily laden trees,
Pregnant with the aroma and elixir of promise
Thank you for letting us eat and drink from your bounty to manifest our desires
Hail and Farewell!

Farewell to the Lady/Goddess:

Goddess Danu, Great Mother
Thank you for attending our circle
as we walked the twilight mists between the worlds
Thank you for guiding us to the magick deep within
And letting us feel your heartbeat in the land
Great Goddess of magick and wisdom, prosperity and plenty,
Thank you for attending our circle as we planted the seeds for our future
Hail and Farewell!

Release of the Directions/Quarters:

Hail Guardian of the Watchtower of the North

As the wolf stalks the night
Thank you for joining our circle to protect and guide us in the hunt
And for lending us your senses and steadfastness to manifest our goals
Hail and Farewell!

Hail Guardian of the Watchtower of the West
As you move with the waves and tides
The Dolphin, swimming between the worlds
Once of land and now of sea, thank you for being in our circle
And for lending us your ease to move with the ebb and flow
Hail and Farewell!

Hail Guardian of the Watchtower of the South
We heard your roar as that of the Lion
And felt the warmth of your breathe as it caressed us
Thank you for joining our circle, honoring us with your presence
And lending your strength and courage to ours
Hail and Farewell!

Hail Guardian of the Watchtower of the East
The mighty crow spreading black wings
Like a vision on the morning sky
Thank you for attending our circle
And lending your power and wisdom to ours
Hail and Farewell!

North, South, East West, Above, Between and Below,
Thank you for helping us now to manifest our goals.
Blessed be.

Releasing Circle:

We cast this circle out into the Universe
Its light shining forth as a symbol of our working
With thanks to the compassionate helping spirits
And all who have gathered with us.
Blessed be.
